Instructions for STVR Board Members using Manuscript Central

This message contains instructions that all of you need on how to create or upgrade your account to handle papers for STVR. PLEASE RESPOND QUICKLY--you will not be able to process papers until you upgrade your account, and we have papers waiting!

The instructions below are from Matt Smith at Wiley.

Jeff

Step 1 - Create an account.

Step 1A - Upgrading an existing account.

Some of you already have accounts in Manuscript Central (MC) for STVR. If you do, please send an email to Matt Smith masmith@wiley.co.uk telling him your account name. He will need to upgrade your account. (Please note that we cannot do this automatically, since we cannot be sure which is your account.)

Step 1B - Creating a new account.

Visit http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/stvr and click on the "Create Account" button at the very top of the page. Go through the 3 account creation screens. Inform Matt Smith masmith@wiley.co.uk when you have done it to have your account upgraded.

Step 2 - Handling papers.

When a manuscript has been assigned to you, an email will be sent asking you to login and begin processing the article.

Once logged into http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/stvr, click on the Review Editor Centre blue button.

You will be presented with the Review Editor dashboard. A picture of this screen is attached to this email as MC-instruct-screen.jpg.

On the left hand side are a number of queues. A manuscript will appear in the top queue, "Awaiting Reviewing Selections", and as you take actions on the manuscript it will descend through the queues until it is ready for you to make a recommendation to the Editor.

Step 3 - Processing articles.

ScholarOne provides a comprehensive list of guides and movie tutorials via the "Get Help Now" link at the top right corner of every Manuscript Central page. To get to the Editor parts click on the "Online Documentation and Training" link in the "Get Help Now" area. You will be asked to login using your usual Manuscript Central login (please be aware that you need to login twice -- there is a bug that causes the first attempt to login to fail).

Please find links below to the most useful movie tutorials. Using these links should not require you to log-in.
