How to get data files for assignments?


1. Open Netscape or Internet Explorer and type this URL, www.prenhall.com/grauer

2. Click the central book titled, "Microsoft Office 2000 professional". This will take you to Office 2000 home page.

3. Click the Student Resources tab ( on the top of the window) .This takes you to the student resources page .

4. Click the link to the Student Data Disk ( in the left frame), then scroll down the page until you select word 2000.
Then Click the link to download the Student Data Disk.

5. You will see the File Download dialog box asking you what you want to do. The option button to save this program to disk is selected. Click OK . The save as dialog box appears.

6. Click the down arrow in the Save In list box to select 31/2 Floppy [A:] and hit save. The files will start getting saved to your floppy disk.

7.After the file has been saved, go to My Computer on the desktop, double click 31/2 Floppy [A:] and then look for the file called Word2000[1].exe and double click on it. An unzip dialog box will appear, click OK

8. A self-extractor dialog box appears. Under the option unzip to folder, enter A: and click on unzip. The files will get saved to your floppy disk. These are the files you will need for Word assignments.

9. Similarly, you can download Excel, Powerpoint and Access files.

10. A single floppy disk can contain only so many files. Therefore, enter a new floppy for each set of files ie. Excel, Powerpoint and Access files.
