George Mason University's Center for the Study of Neuroeconomics 4/2/08

Seeking current undergraduate and graduate students with background in economics, science, computer science and programming, mathematics, and/or statistics for a Lab Manager position at George Mason University's Center for the Study of Neuroeconomics. Primarily responsible for the administration of behavioral economics and neuroeconomics experiments. Duties include maintaining the Center’s computer lab, recruiting subjects, handling necessary paperwork, testing software, and performing simple statistical data analysis. A highly qualified candidate will have the ability to complete a program in Java, to statistically analyze brain data using GLM, and/or a highly qualified candidate will be capable of setting-up, maintaining, and troubleshooting a networked operating system. Such candidates will be compensated accordingly. Compensation will range from $10.00 per hour to $20.00 per hour, based on above-described skills and experience. The GMU Visual Attention and Cognition lab 2/4/08

is looking for an individual that is interested in learning about human factors/HCI in the context of video games. The individual will need strong programming skills and the willingness to learn new programming languages. IT Help Wanted - 11/07

The Human Emotions Research Lab (HERL) at George Mason University is searching for a qualified IT person who is able to fill either/ both of two part-time IT positions:

General IT Person: (Part-time) Maintain (and update as needed) the lab's computer network (about 20 PCs, 3 printers, linked via University server, plus portable laptops and tablets. This includes maintaining hardware, updating software, and answering general technical questions. In addition, research and make recommendations on software, hardware, and security features, as needed. This position is hourly – about 5 hours a week.

Software consultant/programmer: (Part-time) Design, implement, and update software to present research questionnaires via touch-screen computer. Some of the questionnaires are complex, requiring multiple "skip" rules. We wish to present questions both visually and via headphones. (We have a prototype that worked well on now outdated "qube" touchscreens; need to develop similar software for Lenovo tablets.)
