is Professor of Computer Science at George Mason University.
He is currently serving as Editor-in-Chief of Computing in Science & Engineering. On consulting basis, he is Senior Vice President of Virginia University of Science & Technology and the
Oversea Dean of School of Electrical Engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University.
Jim received his Ph.D. in CS at the University of Central Florida, and MS & BS in CS at Southwest Jiaotong University. He was born in 1962 in Chengdu, China. He is a US citizen and has been in the US since 1989.
Jim received honorary professorships at Beijing Union University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Central South University, Fudan
University, Beijing
